Blogger Tips
Step 4. Where to Create Your Blog:

For the purpose of this tutorial I am creating a Blogger Blog because it is the easiest platform to use. Wordpress is actually the platform of choice for most professional bloggers but you can always migrate your Blogger blog to Wordpress later when you've become more comfortable with blogging in general.

Where can I get a blog? Are they free?
Blogger and Wordpress are free. Typepad has a free option but if you want to customize your page at all, and of course you would want to do that, there is a fee to do so.

Blogger
www.Blogger.com
• Free

Wordpress
www.Wordpress.com
• Customization $14.95
• Space $19.97 - $89.97

TypePad
www.Typepad.com
• $8.95, $14.95, $89.95

I use Blogger. If you also choose Blogger you'll be in luck as there will often be tips in the tutorials that relate specifically to Blogger since that is the program I'm familiar with.

There are also larger social sites like LiveJournal, Myspace and Blogher. That offer the option of creating a blog using their space so that not only are you then creating a blog but have a captured audience of those already using those websites.
